I've been trying out BMP and find it very useful. But I frequently get a windows error message when dragging bookmarks into folders. I'm using Windows XP SP2. Of course I have uninstalled, reinstalled in many ways, but nothing changes.

The error message says:
access violation at address 00468637 in module bmp.exe read of address 00000004

The program continues to function after that, but "forgets" which favorites have already been moved and will create duplicates.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a bug in the program. I have noted the problem and it will be investigated. Thanks.

Thank you Winston. I would like to recommend the software on a website for business computer users, but this little bug is stopping me from doing it!

I'm sorry about that problem. I'll try to fix it as quickly as I can.

Thank you very much.

PS- Which website do you intent to recommend it on?

I am unable to replicate the problem you have encountered. Could you please give me more specific information:
1) How often does this occur?
2) What is the name of the bookmark you are moving?
3) Where is the bookmark coming from and what is the destination folder?

Good news Winston. I think I have found the problem. It seems to be a conflict with Pest Patrol, a popular antispyware program. I had it installed but wasn't actively using it. After uninstalling Pest Patrol the problem went away and no more crashes.

There has been similar issues with Webroot's Spysweeper when it installed itself into the right click context menu. I think these apps are hooking into something (an API?)to watch for changes that spyware might make and the delay makes other apps malfunction.

I will contact you offline about where the app is going to be listed/reviewed.

Thank you for reporting this problem. I am untrustworthy of the so called "anti-spyware" programs because many of them contain their own version of spyware.

Bookmark Manager Pro does not contain malicious programs, but Pest Patrol may be monitoring changes made to the Favorites folders and thereby causing the access violations whenever a modification is made to a bookmark.
